Change or Reset Your Password

You can change or reset your TUNetID password by following the instructions below. If your password has already expired, email help@utulsa.edu from an alternate email address and include your TU student ID number. Your student ID number is the 7-digit number found on the back of your student IT card.  

Reset Password should be selected if you have forgotten your current TU password or have been directed to change your password by the TU IT department. 
Change Password and MFA methods should be selected if you know your current password but would like to change it.

 

If your password was reset by TU’s I.T. department, there may be up to a 30-minute delay before taking effect.

Password Reset Steps:

  1. Visit https://password.utulsa.edu
    1. *NOTE*: This redirects to the Microsoft Online Password Reset website.
       
  2. Enter your NetID abc1234@utulsa.edu address
    1. Complete the challenge request.
    2. Press the Next button to continue.
       
  3. Select "I forgot my password".
    1. Press the Next button to continue.

  4. Select an available verification option.
    1. Follow the prompts to complete your chosen authentication.

  5. Chose a new password.

Password Requirements

  • Colleague users cannot use , (comma) OR < > as their special character. WebAdvisor users cannot use / (forward slash) OR \ (back slash) as their special character
  • Passwords cannot contain the TUNetID or parts of the user’s full name, such as their first name
  • Passwords must include three of the four following complexity conditions:
    • 15 Characters (minimum)
    • 1 Upper-case letter
    • 1 Lower-case letter
    • 1 Number
    • 1 Special Character (~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\(){}[]:;"',.?/)

Reminders

After resetting your TUNetID password, update all devices such as computers, laptops, smartphones, tablets, etc., that have been set up to use your TUNetID to access University systems.
Any device using an expired TUNetID password will not receive network connectivity.
