Wifi Tips

We get it—WiFi is essential for studying, gaming, streaming, and staying connected. Here are some tips to keep your connection strong:

🔥 1. Toggle WiFi When You’re On the Move: Heading from the library to your dorm? Toggle your WiFi OFF and back ON once you are at your destination. This helps your device lock onto the closest access point for a stronger signal and uses less power for longer battery life.

📲 2. Apple Users: Turn Off “Limit IP Address Tracking”: This privacy setting can slow things down. Go to WiFi for the network you are on → Info icon → Toggle OFF “Limit IP Address Tracking.”

🎮 3. TUDevices = Gaming & Smart Tech ONLY: Register consoles and smart devices on TUDevices—not phones or laptops.

🔄 4. Restart Your Device: Sometimes the easiest fix is just a quick restart. Seriously—it works.

📶 5. Check Your Signal Strength: Weak signal? Move closer to an access point. Don’t see one near your dorm/apartment – let us know by sending an email to help@utulsa.edu.

🔐 6. Forget & Reconnect: If Wi-Fi is acting up, forget the network and reconnect. It often solves authentication issues.

⬆️ 7. Update Your Device: Keep your software up to date—updates often include network fixes.

📢 8. Report Issues:  If you are still experiencing network issues, please report your specific problem by emailing help@utulsa.edu  so we can help. Make sure to include the below details:
