Turning the Room ON

An ADA-compliant podium is available at the front of each room. Raise and lower the podium height using the buttons under the desktop surface on your right.

  1. Touch the Room Control Panel to wake the display.
  2. Touch anywhere in the white space labeled “Press Here to Start” to power on the room.

Using the Room Control Panel

Display Sources

Front of Room Display controls what students see on the large screens.

  • In Room PC Main – Default option. Duplicates main screen to front of room.
  • In Room PC Extended – Extends main screen to the front displays.
  • Laptop – Connect wirelessly to present from your own device.
  • Image Mute – Blanks the front screen displays.

Confidence/Podium Source: Controls the rear confidence display and the touchscreen on the podium.

  • In Room PC Main – Default view (mirrors podium + confidence).
  • In Room PC Extended – Extended view across both screens.
  • Laptop – Wireless laptop display on podium + confidence screen.
  • Image Mute – Hides the display (blue screen + muted mic).

2024 Control Panel Updates

Display Controls

In updated rooms, control left and right displays separately.

  • 1a. Left display (as viewed from podium)
  • 1b. Right display

Reboot PC Button

Restarts the AV system and room PC.

  • Displays: turn off and back on automatically
  • Projectors: must be turned on manually after reboot

Camera Presets

  • Home: Wide front classroom view
  • Podium: Close-up view of the podium
  • Whiteboard: Best for remote viewing of notes
  • Wide: Full room view
  • Privacy: Mutes camera + mic, displays blue screen

Help Button

Use the red Help button on the Control Panel to report room issues.

  • Select a problem category or type a message under "Custom Request."
  • Watch the panel for a response from the Classroom Tech team.

Room Sound Options

  • Mute Voice Lift: Disables in-room speaker amplification
  • Volume Slider: Adjusts speaker output volume
  • Mute Source: Mutes outgoing audio feed

Mic Array Indicator Lights:

  • Red: Mic OFF
  • Green: Mic ON (uplift muted)
  • Blue: Mic ON (uplift active)

Hovercam Document Camera

Use the HoverCam Flex 11 software from the In Room PC Main desktop.

Please ensure that the room is powered off properly when finished to avoid issues for the next instructor.
